Join Navigo for an unforgettable pickleball getaway to the country of Panama, combining exciting play, cultural experiences, and tropical scenery with the 2nd Annual Panama Canal Cup, the largest pickleball tournament in Latin America. Designed for players and non-playing companions alike, this trip offers the perfect mix of organized pickleball, sightseeing, great food, and time to enjoy one of Central America’s most vibrant destinations.

Our pickleball coach on this trip is Navigo's most popular instructor and pro, Rachael Kroog. Rachael has accumulated over 200 medals in her 10 years of competition. She’s competed at the 5.0 level in tournaments across the country winning golds in state tournaments in MN, WI, AZ, and TX, as well as gold medals at The National Pickleball Championships, The National Senior Games, The US Open, and in The World Huntsman Games.

Spend your days experiencing the energy of Panama City, exploring historic neighborhoods, and taking in the world-famous Panama Canal while enjoying tournament matches and social play at premier local facilities. Off the court, guests will enjoy guided excursions, authentic Panamanian cuisine, and opportunities to experience the country’s unique blend of history, nature, and modern city life. Whether competing in the tournament or simply enjoying the atmosphere, this trip is designed to bring people together through travel and pickleball.

From the colorful streets of Casco Viejo to the excitement surrounding the Panama Canal Cup, this is a week filled with memorable experiences, new friendships, and plenty of time on the court.

Arrival in Panama City – Casco Viejo Exploration and Welcome Dinner

Begin your day with the final preparations for the upcoming adventure. Double-check your travel essentials, ensuring all documents, pickleball gear, and personal items are packed. Take a moment to review the itinerary and any pre-departure information provided by Navigo.

 

Welcome to a country where modern city life, rich history, and tropical culture come together in one incredible destination. Your journey begins in vibrant Panama City, home to the world-famous Panama Canal and the colorful streets of Casco Viejo.


AM & PM: Arrival and Transfer to Hotel


Guests arriving at Tocumen International Airport will have the option to join scheduled group transfers to the hotel. If your arrival time differs from the scheduled transfer window, you are welcome to meet the group at the hotel later in the day following check-in.


PM: Tour Briefing


Following your free time for lunch and check-in, your hosts will provide a comprehensive tour briefing, outlining the exciting pickleball schedule and the cultural highlights awaiting exploration.


PM: Guided Walking Tour of Casco Viejo


In the late afternoon, set out on a guided walking tour through the historic district of Casco Viejo, Panama City’s beautifully restored old quarter and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through charming cobblestone streets lined with colorful colonial architecture, historic churches, lively plazas, and boutique cafés while learning about the fascinating history that shaped Panama into a crossroads of the Americas.

Your guide will introduce you to some of the neighborhood’s most iconic landmarks while sharing stories of pirates, traders, independence movements, and the construction of the Panama Canal. Along the way, guests will also have the opportunity to sample Panama’s world-renowned Geisha coffee, considered among the finest coffees in the world and grown in the highlands of Boquete.

As evening approaches, Casco Viejo comes alive with music, warm lights, and stunning skyline views across the bay toward modern Panama City.


PM: Special Group Dinner: A Culinary Celebration


The evening concludes with a special group welcome dinner featuring traditional Panamanian flavors and local specialties. Enjoy a relaxed evening of great food, conversation, and tropical hospitality as the group gathers together for the first time. Guests will also have the opportunity to sample local Panamanian rum and toast to the exciting week ahead.

Pickleball Training and Gamboa Rainforest Experience

Prepare for a day that blends pickleball, wildlife, and the natural beauty of Panama. Today focuses on getting players comfortable on the courts ahead of tournament play while also offering an unforgettable afternoon exploring the lush rainforest surrounding the Panama Canal watershed. From social games and skills evaluations to spotting monkeys and sloths along the shores of Lake Gatún, this day captures the unique mix of sport and adventure that makes Panama so special.

AM: Pickleball Skills Evaluation and Social Play

Following breakfast at the hotel, the group will head to the courts for the first pickleball session of the trip. Today’s focus is on skill evaluation, tournament preparation, and building chemistry among players before the Panama Canal Cup begins. Guests will enjoy a mix of organized drills, social play, and coached sessions designed to help players settle into the week while getting valuable court time against fellow travelers.

Players will be grouped by skill level to ensure balanced and enjoyable games for everyone, whether preparing for competitive tournament matches or simply looking to enjoy social pickleball in a fun and welcoming environment. Navigo staff and local pickleball hosts will also provide information regarding tournament schedules, formats, and logistics for the days ahead.

PM: Lunch

After the morning session, enjoy lunch on your own before departing for one of Panama’s most scenic natural areas.

PM: Lake Gatún Boat Tour and Gamboa Rainforest Experience

In the afternoon, travel toward the Gamboa Rainforest, located along the banks of the Panama Canal and surrounded by dense tropical jungle. Board a guided boat excursion onto Lake Gatún, one of the most important bodies of water connected to the operation of the Panama Canal.

Cruise through the calm waters while searching for wildlife throughout the rainforest canopy and shoreline. The region is home to several species of monkeys, including capuchins, howler monkeys, and tamarins, along with sloths, iguanas, toucans, herons, and countless exotic birds. Your local guide will help spot wildlife while sharing insight into the ecosystem and the important role this rainforest plays within Panama’s biodiversity.

The combination of peaceful scenery, tropical wildlife, and views of ships transiting through the canal system creates a uniquely Panamanian experience unlike anywhere else in the world.

Panama Canal Cup – Tournament Play Begins

Today is all about pickleball as the group takes part in the Panama Canal Cup, the largest pickleball tournament in Latin America. Players from across Panama, North America, and throughout the region come together for an exciting day of competition, sportsmanship, and community at one of Panama City’s premier pickleball facilities. Whether competing for medals or simply enjoying the atmosphere, today promises high energy, great matches, and plenty of unforgettable moments on the court.

AM: Breakfast at the Hotel

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel before departing for the tournament venue. Players should come prepared with all necessary pickleball equipment, hydration, and tournament attire for a full day of matches and activities. Navigo staff will assist guests with transportation logistics, tournament check-in, and daily scheduling throughout the event.

AM & PM: Panama Canal Cup Tournament Play

The day will be dedicated to the Panama Canal Cup competition and tournament activities. Matches are expected to feature a combination of round-robin play and elimination rounds across a variety of divisions and skill levels. Tournament organizers strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for both experienced competitors and newer players looking to challenge themselves in an international setting.

Throughout the day, guests will have opportunities to watch additional matches, connect with players from around the world, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere surrounding the tournament. If you're a non-playing companion or not competing that day, your Navigo Tour Director will show you more of the capital city region, including more time on the old town, beaches, and parks!


The Panama Canal Cup has quickly become one of the region’s premier pickleball events, bringing together a passionate international community while showcasing the growing popularity of the sport throughout Latin America.

PM: Evening at Leisure

Following tournament play, return to the hotel for a relaxed evening. Guests may choose to enjoy dinner independently, explore Panama City’s dining scene, or unwind after an exciting first day of competition.

Panama Canal Cup – Tournament Play and Metropolitan Natural Park

Another exciting day awaits at the Panama Canal Cup as competition continues in Panama City.

AM: Breakfast at the Hotel

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for the day’s tournament schedule. Navigo staff will assist guests with transportation and daily match coordination throughout the event.

AM & PM: Panama Canal Cup Tournament Play

The majority of the day will be dedicated to tournament competition. If you're a non-playing companion or not competing that day, your Navigo Tour Director will show you more of the capital city region, including more time on the old town, beaches, and parks!

PM: Metropolitan Natural Park Visit

During a break in tournament activities, the group will visit Metropolitan Natural Park, a protected tropical rainforest located right within Panama City. This peaceful green space offers a refreshing contrast to the busy city and provides another opportunity to experience Panama’s incredible biodiversity.

Guests may spot tropical birds, monkeys, sloths, butterflies, and other native wildlife while enjoying light walking trails and panoramic views overlooking the city skyline and the Panama Canal area. The visit offers a relaxing chance to recharge and experience yet another side of Panama’s unique natural beauty.

PM: Evening at Leisure

Following the day’s activities, return to the hotel for an evening at leisure to relax, enjoy dinner, or explore Panama City on your own.

Panama Canal Cup Finals and Transfer to Coronado

Today marks the final day of the Panama Canal Cup as players take the courts one last time. After several exciting days of pickleball, camaraderie, and international competition, the final champions will be crowned, and the tournament will come to a memorable close.

AM: Breakfast and check out of the Hotel

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and preparing for the final day of tournament activities. Guests should ensure luggage is packed and ready for the afternoon transfer west toward Panama’s Pacific coast.

AM & PM: Panama Canal Cup Final Matches

Spend the morning and early afternoon enjoying the final rounds of the tournament, cheering on fellow players, and soaking in the atmosphere surrounding the closing day of the Panama Canal Cup. Championship matches and medal ceremonies will bring the event to an exciting conclusion as players from across the region celebrate an unforgettable weekend of competition and connection. If you're a non-playing companion or not competing that day, your Navigo Tour Director will show you more of the capital city region, including more time on the old town, beaches, and parks!

PM: Transfer to Coronado

Following the tournament, the group will depart Panama City and travel west along the Pacific Coast toward Coronado, one of Panama’s most popular beach destinations known for its relaxed atmosphere, ocean views, and tropical surroundings. The drive offers a scenic look at Panama beyond the capital city as the landscape transitions from urban skyline to coastal countryside.

PM: Resort Check-In and Evening at Leisure

Upon arrival in Coronado, check in to the resort and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure. Guests may choose to relax by the pool, walk along the beach, or enjoy dinner while taking in the laid-back coastal atmosphere after several busy days of tournament play.

Coronado – Resort Activities& Pacific Snorkeling Excursion

After several exciting days of tournament play, today offers a more relaxed pace along Panama’s Pacific coast. Guests are free to enjoy the amenities of the resort, take advantage of optional activities, or simply unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings of Coronado.

AM: Breakfast at the Resort

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the resort before choosing how to spend the day’s activities. Unlike previous days, no organized pickleball sessions are scheduled today, allowing guests time to recharge and enjoy Panama’s beachside atmosphere at their own pace.

AM & PM: Optional Resort Activities

Guests wishing to continue playing pickleball are welcome to make use of the resort courts throughout the day. Tee times for golf may also be arranged for interested guests, and Navigo staff will gladly assist with reservations and scheduling around the day’s featured excursion.

PM: Pacific Coast Snorkeling Excursion

In the afternoon, depart for a snorkeling adventure along Panama’s Pacific coastline. Cruise through warm tropical waters while enjoying views of the surrounding beaches, rocky islands, and coastal scenery. Depending on sea conditions and the exact excursion routing, guests may have opportunities to snorkel in calm waters filled with tropical fish and marine life while enjoying time to swim and relax in the Pacific Ocean.

The excursion offers a fun and refreshing opportunity to experience another side of Panama’s natural beauty while enjoying a laid-back afternoon on the water with fellow travelers.

Return to the resort in the evening with time to relax, enjoy dinner, or take in the peaceful coastal atmosphere of Coronado.

Today is all about enjoying the relaxed pace and beautiful surroundings of Panama’s Pacific coast. After several days of tournament competition and sightseeing, guests will have the opportunity to reconnect on the courts during a fun social pickleball session before enjoying a free afternoon at the resort.

AM: Breakfast at the Resort

Enjoy breakfast at the resort before gathering for one final organized pickleball session of the trip.


AM: Group Pickleball Social Play Session

This morning’s pickleball session is designed to be relaxed, social, and fun for players of all levels. Guests will enjoy open play, friendly matches, and opportunities to mix in with fellow travelers one last time during the trip. Whether looking for competitive games or simply enjoying time on the court with new friends, the session provides a perfect way to celebrate an incredible week of pickleball in Panama.


Navigo staff will assist with court organization and match rotations to ensure everyone has plenty of opportunities to play and enjoy the morning.


PM: Free Afternoon at the Resort

The remainder of the day is free for guests to enjoy the resort and the surrounding area at their own pace. Relax by the pool, spend time at the beach, schedule a round of golf, enjoy the resort’s amenities, or simply unwind and soak in the tropical atmosphere of Coronado.

Return to Panama City & Farewell Dinner

Enjoy your final morning in Coronado with time to soak in the last moments of Panama’s Pacific coast. After a week of pickleball, exploration, and connection, today offers a relaxed opportunity to choose how you’d like to spend your final hours by the beach.

AM: Breakfast at the Resort

Start the day with breakfast at the resort before enjoying a final stretch of free time.

AM: Open Morning – Optional Activities

The morning is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Guests may choose to play one last casual game of pickleball, head out for a round of golf, relax by the pool, or enjoy a final walk along the beach. Navigo staff will be available to assist with any last-minute activity coordination or reservations.

PM: Check-Out and Transfer to Panama City

Late morning, the group will check out from the resort and begin the journey back to Panama City. Sit back and enjoy the scenic drive as the coastline gives way once again to the energy of the capital city.

PM: Farewell Dinner

This evening, gather one last time as a group for a special farewell dinner in Panama City. Celebrate an incredible week of pickleball, travel, and shared experiences with new friends and teammates. Enjoy a relaxed evening of great food, conversation, and reflection on the highlights of the trip.

PM: Overnight Near the Airport

After dinner, transfer to your hotel near Tocumen International Airport for your final night in Panama, making for an easy departure the following day.

Your Tour Directors will be at your disposal to seamlessly transport you from the hotel to the airport or your next destination. For those of you with very early or late departures, the hotel has a shuttle service to bring you to the airport on your schedule (must be reserved 24 hours in advance).
